This past weekend, I had the pleasure of teaching at the Kansas Sunflower Guild, surrounded by a group of passionate and talented basket weavers. The workshop was lively, with several baskets being woven at once, and each participant brought their unique flair and creativity to the projects. It was a joy to see so many beautiful pieces come together, each one reflecting the dedication and artistry of its maker.

A huge thank you to Emily Brown, who worked diligently behind the scenes to ensure the event ran smoothly. She coordinated with me for all the preordered basket kits, which made everything flow seamlessly. Her attention to detail was evident, right down to the beautiful owl cards that added a special touch to our gathering. And let’s not forget the food! Many participants brought delicious treats to share, adding to the warmth and camaraderie that filled the room over our two days together.

I’m deeply grateful to have been invited to teach such an amazing group. The Kansas Sunflower Guild embodies the spirit of community and creativity that makes the world of basket weaving so wonderful. Each member’s enthusiasm and support for one another was inspiring, and it was a true honor to be a part of this experience.

If other guilds or weaving groups are interested in bringing me in for a workshop, I’d love to connect! Teaching and sharing my love for basket weaving is a passion, and I’m always excited to meet new weavers and help guide them through new techniques and projects. Reach out if you’d like to discuss the possibilities – I’d be thrilled to join you for a future event.

Thank you again to everyone at the Kansas Sunflower Guild. Here’s to many more beautifully woven baskets and shared memories!
