As the chill of winter settled in, I had the pleasure of traveling to Ohio for Winterweave, an incredible event filled with talented weavers, laughter, and creative energy. From the moment I arrived, I was met with warmth—not just from the venue, but from the amazing organizers and participants who made this experience unforgettable.
A heartfelt thank you to the entire Winterweave team for their seamless organization, clear communication, and generous help in unloading and loading my trailer. Their support made setting up and breaking down a breeze, allowing me to focus on what I love most—teaching and sharing my passion for basket weaving.
To all the students who took my classes, I cannot express enough gratitude! Your enthusiasm, dedication, and willingness to try new techniques made each session a joy. Whether it was crafting the elegant Elbow Basket,
embracing the meaning behind Love, Honor, and Respect,
capturing the warmth of the season with Fall Sunset,
stepping up the style with Step in Style,
tackling the intricate Seven Sisters,
or embracing the beauty of the Arctic Snowflake, every class was filled with inspiring creativity. Seeing each of you bring these baskets to life was truly rewarding.
A special shoutout for the delicious lunches and the appreciation dinner—it was such a treat to sit down, share stories, and enjoy great food with fellow weavers. These moments of camaraderie are just as valuable as the time spent weaving, strengthening the bonds of our wonderful weaving community.
Winterweave was not just about teaching; it was about connecting, inspiring, and celebrating our shared love for the art of basketry. Thank you to everyone who made this event a success.
