What a wonder-filled weekend it was in Benton County! I had the absolute pleasure of teaching at the basket weaving gathering there, and my heart is still smiling from all the laughter, creativity, and connection that filled the room.
A huge, heartfelt thank you to the Benton County Basket Weavers Guild for inviting me to be part of such a special event. You truly know how to make a weaver feel welcome — from the cheerful smiles to the endless plates of delicious food and, of course, the sound of reeds creaking and laughter ringing through the air.
And a special shout-out to Luci McMahon, who so thoughtfully coordinated everything with me. Luci, your kindness, patience, and behind-the-scenes magic made the whole weekend run as smoothly as a perfectly packed rim. You’re the kind of organizer every teacher dreams of working with!
Together, we shared techniques, traded stories, and created not only baskets — but also new friendships woven tight with joy. It’s always amazing how basket weaving brings people together, one over-under at a time.
Thank you again, Benton County Guild, for the food, fun, and fabulous fellowship. I’m already looking forward to the next time our paths — and reeds — cross!
