I recently had the incredible honor of teaching and vending at the Missouri Basketweavers Guild’s event in St. Louis, and I want to take a moment to express my deep gratitude to everyone who made this experience so memorable.

Thank You to the Missouri Basketweavers Guild

First and foremost, a huge thank you to the Missouri Basketweavers Guild for inviting me to be part of this event.

The opportunity to share my passion for basket weaving with such a talented and enthusiastic group of weavers was truly a privilege. The warm welcome I received from the Guild members made me feel right at home in St. Louis.

Gratitude to My Students

To all the students who took my classes—thank you for your energy, creativity, and willingness to learn. Teaching each of you was a joy, and I was inspired by the unique perspectives and techniques you brought to the table. Whether you were a seasoned weaver or trying a new pattern for the first time, your dedication to the craft was evident. I hope the skills and insights you gained in our sessions will continue to enhance your weaving journey.

Appreciation for Those Who Visited My Booth

I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who visited my booth. Whether you purchased a basket kit, basket tools, or simply stopped by to chat, your support means the world to me. It’s always a pleasure to meet fellow basket weavers and share stories, ideas, and inspiration. I hope the items you took home from my booth bring you as much joy as they did to me in creating or curating them.

As I reflect on my time in St. Louis, I’m filled with a sense of community and connection that only events like this can foster. It’s experiences like these that remind me why I love teaching and vending—it’s not just about the baskets, but about the people who weave them and the bonds we create along the way.

Thank you once again to the Missouri Basketweavers Guild, my wonderful students, and everyone who supported my booth. I look forward to our paths crossing again in the future, and until then, happy weaving!

Happy Basket Weaving,

  1. Hi Lorelei;
    I am having trouble contacting you for some reason so I am using this method. I ordered some stuff from you recently including an elbow basket kit. I didn’t get any seagrass or the blue strip to embellish the wrapped handle.
    I have plenty of seagrass but can you please send me the strip of blue reed? It looks like some flat oval, maybe 3/16”. It is not listed in the Materials Needed under Handle. There is an incomplete entry there that say 30” p. And that’s it. I assume the rest of the entry just got left out.

    1. Thank you for bringing this to my attention! I’m so sorry for the oversight. I’ll make sure to send out the strip of blue reed (flat oval, 3/16”) right away.

      It looks like there was a mistake in the Materials Needed list, and I apologize for any confusion that caused. I have updated the pattern to ensure everything is clear for future kits.

      Thanks again for your understanding, and if you need anything else, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
      Happy Weaving,
      Lorelea
