Today marks not just another step in my journey, but a giant leap into a world woven with passion, creativity, and endless possibilities. As I bid farewell to my day job, I’m thrilled to announce that I will be dedicating myself full-time to the craft and community I love: basket weaving. This transition isn’t just about devoting more time to my craft; it’s about fully immersing myself in the world of baskets, expanding the Hoot Basket Gift Club, introducing new patterns and kits, and significantly growing my teaching engagements. It’s about turning a lifelong passion into a full-time pursuit.
A New Chapter for the Hoot Basket Gift Club
The Hoot Basket Gift Club, my pride and joy, is set for exciting expansions. I’m diving deep into curating more diverse, unique, and inspiring selections for our members. Expect to see a wider range of basket patterns, materials, and exclusive kits that promise to bring new challenges and joys to your doorstep. Our community’s spirit of learning and creativity will be at the heart of every box, with the aim of making each unboxing an adventure in itself.
Expanding Horizons Through Teaching
Teaching has always been a cornerstone of my journey, and now, with the gift of time, I’m thrilled to expand my teaching schedule even further. I’ll be bringing my workshops to a wider audience, including prestigious engagements with the Monroe County, Tidewater, Tennessee Basket Association, Missouri Basketweavers Guild, Fall Heritage, Kentucky Basket Association, Association of Michigan Basketweavers, and the Kansas Sunflower Group. Each location, each class, each student brings a new opportunity to share, learn, and grow together in our craft.
But my heart remains rooted in Louisville, Kentucky, where I’ll be expanding my local classes. These sessions are more than just classes; they’re a chance to build community, share stories, and create lasting connections through the art of basket weaving.

This transition to full-time basket weaving is more than a career shift; it’s a declaration of my commitment to a craft that has given me so much joy, fulfillment, and a sense of community.
